Review highlights
Based on 158 reviewsNoir Kitchen & Lounge in Hamilton is widely praised for its exceptional service, with attentive and friendly staff frequently highlighted. The restaurant’s ambiance is described as moody yet warm and inviting, striking a balance between romantic and classy, enhanced by both stylish interior decor and a cozy covered patio. Food quality consistently receives high marks, particularly for perfectly cooked steaks, fresh seafood like scallops and oysters, and standout dishes such as the Noir burger, arancini, and roasted chicken. Vegan options also draw positive attention for their flavor. Some feedback notes discomfort with seating upstairs, but overall, Noir is celebrated for delivering a memorable dining experience combining excellent cuisine with a sophisticated atmosphere.
Noir has met all my expectations for a perfect date night out! The Noir burger is so juicy and flavourful! The mozzarella sticks are to DIE for with the perfect cheese pull. This visit me and my partner shared the caesar salad (which was completely vegan you would never know). She got the mussels and I got steak frings, my steak was cooked perfectly. I would recommend the nello cocktail if you like sweet (which I do). service was 10/10 , water always being filled, checked in on multiple times, we will definitely be back here !
Had a wonderful evening and experience at Noire. The service, ambience and food were amazing! Aria was an amazing server... beautiful person! And the best, especially for Francophones and French people living in Ontario, they had pineau de charente. The scallops were cooked perfectly and fresh. Nice covered patio and inside is nicely decorated. Very romantic and classy. I highly recommend.
This was an amazing experience. We ended up with the top floor nearly to ourselves (thank you snow storm) which contributed to the moody atmosphere. This restaurant is aesthetically beautiful but I will say, the chairs upstairs were very uncomfortable and do not invite you to relax and stay awhile. Service was excellent, and very helpful. I really appreciated the care our server took with ensuring allergies and dietary concerns were heard and addressed. The food. THE FOOD. Delicious. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Hamilton. Treat yourself, you will not regret it.
We got to try out Noir last weekend after it being recommended by a friend. Firstly, service was excellent, very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was very dark, yet still warm and inviting. We ordered the oysters to start, very fresh, east coast taste! We decided to share the tomahawk platter, with roasted cabbage and mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly, and presentation was A. It was definitely more than enough food for two. The prices were on the high side, but with the level of quality food and exceptional service it is worth the price. Overall great first experience at Noir. I would definitely recommend you try them out for your next date night or special occasion.
We randomly decided to go to this restaurant and let me tell you it was the best decision. The service was great and the food was exquisite. The arancini and the salad blew us away, The pasta was amazing but the roasted chicken entree was to die for. It was soft and juicy and I can't even describe the sauce.I definitely can say at this point, no other restaurant in Hamilton can cook chicken like Noir. Thanks Nupinder for the wonderful experience and the cake to end the night with.
Yum!!! Love the ambiance. Love the creativity of the menu. Tuna tartare cannolis are a must try!!! This is the kind of restaurant I’ve been looking for in Hamilton and I’ll 100% be back. I ordered the basa. The romanesco puree under it, I could eat a whole bowl of. The crispy Brussels sprouts were delicious, I don’t like bacon. These had bacon on them and I was so appreciative that the bacon was just a slight flavor note, not an over powering experience. Service was lovely. Parking is the only thing that suuuuuuper sucks here.
We chose Noir for a rehearsal party knowing how romantic and intimate the atmosphere would be while still being relaxed and welcoming. The staff were incredibly engaging all night and catered to our every need. The food was delicious which was a big plus. But we also knew that ahead of time as we had a dinner there a few months earlier to check it out. It was everything we were wishing for and more! And made the wedding weekend that more special! Hats off to Noir!
I had the brunch and pictures speak louder than words but I can attest to the flavors that were absolutely phenomenal. I also had the hibiscus and rasberry tea to compliment it. The location of the restaurant is night and day from the rest of Hamilton as it’s on Locke street and it such a family friendly neighborhood with great shops to pop into
